Here is the top 5 for the fastest speeds in the first practice for the Shelby 427:
1.Mark Martin
2.David Reutimann
3.David Stremme
4.Jimmie Johnson
5.Kevin Harvick
What could this mean. What I mean is look at the top 3. I know it's only practice, but some of you thought I was crazy thinking MWR is going to do good this year. David Reutimann is 2nd in speed and Mark Martin is not in MWR but is first in speed. Could this be the year of the underdogs?

Shelby 427 Prediction
Here is my Prediction for the top 5 in the Shelby 427
1.Tony Stewart
2.Matt Kenseth
3.Denny Hamlin
4.Kyle Busch
5.Jimmie Johnson
That is my prediction for the top 5. Anyone realize there's 27 extra miles this year. It will be about a 285 lap race. Also, there's a new sponsor, Shelby (what's Shelby) but that normally happens. Yea, more racing.

Dominate Season?
Michael Waltrip Racing has 2 drivers that if the chase were to start next week, would be in the chase. The chase is 24 races away but, if they can keep it up, Michael Waltrip and David Reutimann might just be contenders for the chase. Michael Waltrip with 2 impressive finishes is 7th in points. David Reutimann is 12th in points. The question is, Will they have a dominate season? Nascar is only two races into the season and I know most of you are probably saying that they don't have a chance, but we'll just have to see.

Sprint Cup Standings After Race Two
Here are the standings for the top 5 in the Sprint Cup after race two:
1.Matt Kenseth Points Leader
2.Jeff Gordon -81
3.Kurt Busch -91
4.Tony Stewart -91
5.Greg Biffle -117
I think after that big wreck last week that all the good guys got in basically caused a bit of confusion in the points. All the good guys are not even in the chase, but it's a long season.

Auto Club 500 Results
Here are the results for the top 5 in the Auto Club 500:
1.Matt Kenseth
2.Jeff Gordon
3.Kyle Busch
4.Greg Biffle
5.Kurt Busch
In my prediction for the top five, three of the guys that I predicted that would finish in the top 5 did finish in the top 5. Also, Matt Kenseth is the fourth driver in the history of Nascar that won the first 2 races of the season. The race had a fun finish to it but there really was only one real cation. Although there were 5 cations, four of them were for rain. That was a fun race though.

Stater Brothers 300 Results
Here are the results for the top 5 in the Nationwide race that was yesterday,The Starter Brothers 300:
1.Kyle Busch
2.Kevin Harvick
3.Joey Logano
4.Carl Edwards
5.David Ragan
I have a couple things to say. First of all, the best finish for a non-Sprint Cup guy was 9th and it was Brendan Gaughan. Second of all, will Kyle Busch do a full weekend sweep? He already won the Camping World and the Nationwide races. All he has to do today is win the Sprint Cup race and he will do the full weekend sweep.

Here are the results for the top 5 in the San Bernardino Country 200:
1.Kyle Busch
2.Todd Bodine
3.Chad McCumbee
4.David Starr
5.T.J. Bell
First of all, I didn't say this but it was a Camping World Series race. Second of all, if Todd Bodine doesn't get a sponsor after this race, it would just be crazy.

Sprint Cup Standings After Race One
Here are the standings for the top 5 after race one:
1.Matt Kenseth Points Leader
2.Kevin Harvick -20
3.A.J. Allmendinger -25
4.Clint Bowyer -30
5.Elliot Sadler -30
I know it might seem like it would be the same standings as how they finished at Daytona but, since there are bonus points and all that stuff, it's a little bit different. Also Clint Bowyer and Elliot Sadler are tied but Clint Bowyer gets 4th because he finished better than Sadler and his race team finished better in owner points last year. Owner points have the same standings too.

Auto Club 500 Lineup
Here is the lineup for the top 5 in the Auto Club 500:
1.Brian Vickers
2.Jimmie Johnson
3.Jamie McMurray
4.Kurt Busch
5.Greg Biffle
This time since it's not Daytona, I can tell you that your qualifying position might matter. Let's hope that the race is like last year's. The thing that was bad about last year was that it ended on Monday. Just hope it doesn't do that again.

Daytona 500 Results
Here are the results for the top 10 for the Daytona 500:

4.Clint Bowyer
5.Elliot Sadler
6.David Ragan
7.Micheal Waltrip
8.Tony Stewart
9.Reed Sorenson
10.Kurt Busch
Now if you paid attention to the top 3 performing Toyotas, you might be surprised. Since there was a big wreck and a lot of Toyotas got caught up in it, the top three Toyotas are all the MWR drivers, finishing in 7th, 12th and 17th. Also it was more like the Daytona 380 since they called the race on lap 152. It was more like the race of surprises too.

Here are the results for the top 5 for the Nationwide race at Daytona:
1.Tony Stewart
2.Carl Edwards
3.Clint Bowyer
4.Kyle Busch
5.Greg Biffle
The only driver that finished in the top 10 that is an all Nationwide driver is Jason Keller who finished 8th. Other than that it was a typical race for the Nationwide series.

Here are the results for the Camping World race for the top 5:
1.Todd Bodine
2.Kyle Busch
3.Terry Cook
4.J.R. Fitzpatrick
5.Ron Hornaday
This is the first time for 62 race that an unsponsored truck won a race. Also I realized when watching a raceclip on nascar.com, that on Todd Bodine's truck, instead of having his real name he had "Onion". I think it's a nickname or something. I might not be able to blog tonight. I'm going to the Wild game. We'll see if I'll be able to blog.

Daytona 500 Lineup
Here is the lineup for the top 5 in the Daytona 500:
1.Martin Truex Jr.
2.Mark Martin
3.Jeff Gordon
4.Kyle Busch
5.Tony Stewart
I realized that the first driver that isn't a Toyota or Chevrolet is Bobby Labonte, which is a ford driver, starting in 12th and the best dodge starting position is 13th and the driver is Kurt Busch.

Gatorade Duel Race 2 Results
The second Gatorade Duel race has finished and here is the finish for the top 5:
1.Kyle Busch
2.Mark Martin
3.Brian Vickers
4.Juan Montoya
5.Denny Hamlin
There aren't many surprise finishes on this one. It was sort of boring compared to the first Gatorade Duel. I'll get the qualifying post up soon.

Here is the finish for the top 5 in the first Gatorade Duel Race:
1.Jeff Gordon
2.Tony Stewart
3.Jimmie Johnson
4.Joey Logano
5.Aric Almirola
The race won't really decide on how good you'll do in the Daytona 500, I can tell you that you can go from last to first in one lap. Joey Logano surprised me by finishing in the top 5. I will post the results for the second duel as soon as I can.

The drivers that didn't make the front row will know their starting position after the Twin Gatorade Duels. 21 drivers are go or go home drivers so 13 of them will go home. 4 of the go or go home drivers know they're in. They are Bill Elliott, Travis Kvapil,Tony Stewart and Terry Labonte.

Budweiser Shootout Results
The Budweiser shootout just finished minutes ago and here is the top 5:
1.Kevin Harvick
2.Jamie McMurray
3.Tony Stewart
4.Jeff Gordon
5.A.J. Allmendinger
All I need to say is what a great finish. Kevin Harvick passes McMurray and a few seconds later a crash happens so the race is over. Allmendinger and Stewart surprised me by finishing in the top five. Also, there is a record of 7 cautions for the Budweiser Shootout and I finally get to stop typing names of beers (It's really getting on my nerves). Also, qualifying for the Daytona 500 is tomorrow. That was some race tonight

Budweiser Shootout This Saturday
The Budweiser Shootout is this Saturday. As most of you know I've talked about it in tons of blogs. Also on Thursday, Nascar is holding this thing where you pick this random item and inside it is where you will start on Saturday night. I haven't said this but, this isn't a point race since there is only 28 cars instead of 43. I will update on Thursday or Friday the positions that each driver is starting in. Also next week is speed week.
